I’m contemplating the door in front of me,
The brown door with white walls surrounding,
A keyhole to look through.
My eyes of faith can see her waiting for me.
I can see her.
Waiting.
A lustrous silver key lay shining in my hand,
Dirty brown edges encircling it,
There’s a keyhole it fits into.
My mind of dismay can see myself getting uneasy,
I can see myself.
Uneasy.
She knows about the life beyond the unlocked doors,
The green grass, the breezy wind,
Two beautiful eyes to look at it.
My troubled sight can see her cringing now,
I can see her.
Cringing.
I‘ve had my time, I have been with her here,
On the green grass and the open air,
Now she’s locked inside,
I’m here, looking for a new key,
I’m waiting, on the outside.
I’m waiting.
Outside.
